SCOPE AND CONTENT
This set is a part of the Southern Africa Publications Special Collection and contains the TransAfrica Forum publications from 1979-1983.

HISTORICAL AND BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

TransAfrica was founded in July 1977 as an African American lobby on Africa and the Caribbean. The Board of Directors of TransAfrica then incorporated in Washington, D.C. the TransAfrica Forum to serve as the tax-exempt educational arm of the lobby organization and a center for activism. TransAfrica Forum sponsors seminars, conferences, community awareness projects, and training programs.
TransAfrica News Report was a quarterly newsletter.
The TransAfrica Forum Issue Brief newsletter is self-described as a “Research and Educational Affiliate of TransAfrica .”
TransAfrica Forum is a quarterly “journal of opinion on matters pertaining to Africa and the Caribbean”.
